Govinda Ahuja or Govinda, as we popularly know him as has been one of the most versatile and bold actor. He is famously known for his series of No.1 films which included Coolie No.1, Hero No.1, Aunty No.1 , Beti No.1, Anari No.1 and Jodi No.1 which makes him the only actor apart form Akshay Kumar to do a series of films with a specific title!Because of this, he was given a title of No.1

He started his career with Ilzaam and then moved on to do 165 other films. He did many films in the 1980’s but he gained recognition as a comic actor in the 90’s with the films Aankhen, Raja Babu, Coolie No.1 , Hero No.1 , Haseena Man Jayegi, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and many more.

Govinda, apart from his movies was also known for his songs! Yes those songs have got a label called “Govinda type songs”. These songs are known for the hip beats, funny lyrics and a unique dance style. These include the songs “Tujhko Mirchi Lagi to main kya karu”, “Sarkai lo takya jada lage”, “Kisi Disco Me Jaye”, “Makhna”, “Meri pant bhi sexy” to name a few. GOvinda was also known for his dance style which was a mix of street and break dance. This dance form was coupled with great expression to bring out the feel.
He was also an MP for 5 years, in the Charkop Constituency, but was not majorly active and quit after his tenure to concentrate on his films. He also acted in hits like Partner, Hum, Kyunki..Main Jhoot Nahi Bolta, Bhagam Bhag.

Govinda was one of the most stylish actor. He was known for wearing an extra-ordinary style and bright colors. He was fearless when he came in styling and his films show that. From bright blues, to neon green and bright yellows, he was colorful to the core. His styling also found a unique name to itself. But all in all, Govinda has been an amazing actor, a great dancer and an amazing style icon. Govinda, you have found your name in the books which the generations coming will look up to for eternity!
